Staying Fit During the Off-Season
The first practice of the season after a long break is always tough. This season my first practice was especially hard. I made the mistake of only keeping up my endurance here and there and doing the minimum amount of practice on my own and it really came back to bite me in the butt. Even though I could keep up with the rest of my team, it was more difficult than it was before, and between the conditioning and how hot the weather was that day, I didn’t feel too great afterward. This is why from now on I plan to stay prepared and give tips on how to do just that. Being productive and consistent is the best strategy for staying fit. If the weather permits you to and you aren’t going too far, walk instead of drive. Some daily commutes can be turned into training.
